Cellar: Fermented with native yeasts, unfined, unfiltered, very low sulphur
Montsant has much in common with its famous neighbouring region, Priorat: both rugged, mountainous territories, with predominantly granite or slate soils, where Garnacha (Grenache) and Carinena or Samso (Carignan) are the predominant varieties. All too often though, wimes from both regions can be heavy going - oaky and over-extracted. Thankfully this is not one of those. Aged and fermented in stainless steel to preserve the fruit and the mineral imprint of the granite, the wine is juicy and fresh with a touch of spice.
