Once revered as one of the great wines of France, the reputation of Tavel declined in recent years. However, on the magnificent limestone terroir of this Southern Rhone appellation, which borders Châteauneuf-du-Pape, sensitive farming and vinification can produce spectacular results. This is more light red than rose, but totally it light belies the fragrance, complexity and length of this truly fine wine.
