Cellar: Native yeast fermentation, unfined, unfiltered, very low added sulphur.
Dominique Lucas comes from Burgundy, and a winemaking family, but chose to set up in the Haut-Savoie, on the border with Switzerland.
This has a beautiful nose: really expressive with white pepper, crystalline citrus notes, a whiff of the seaside and some dried herbs. The palate is fresh with some grip, and lovely delicate, refined, almost ethereal flavours of saline citrus fruit and a strong fine-grained mineral streak. Such a refined, fresh, detailed wine that takes you straight to alpine meadows in May. Beautiful stuff.
