Good afternoon everybody,
First of all a reminder of our upcoming Yule Salon, a celebration of Xmas cakes and bakes kicking off at 10 AM on Sunday in the Covered Market. Full details of the menu in the images at the foot of this message.
Another date for your diaries: Many of you may remember that last year our beloved former manager, Lydia, now of Neal's Yard Dairy, ran a cheese stall on the forecourt of the bakery. This year we're very happy to announce that Lydia will be returning on Monday the 22nd of December with a bountiful spread of British and Irish farmhouse cheeses, cutting and wrapping to order from 10 AM.
With the Iffley Road and Covered Market shops thoroughly decked with boughs of holly, it really is beginning to feel a lot like you know what, so buckle up for more seasonal fayre with the launch of our Christmas sandwiches. It starts with a heritage roll, the right amount of Hamblin mayonnaise, brined and roast free-range Bronze turkey breast from Fosse Meadows shares top billing with a sausage stuffing seasoned with fresh sage and country loaf breadcrumbs. The top notes are provided by a spritely red cabbage pickle and Andrea's cranberry sauce with apple. There may even be a salad leaf or two. Available from Iffley and CM.
Now we would like to draw attention to a wonderful community event. On Christmas day, Flo's, the cafe in Florence park, will be providing a free, festive community meal. They are expecting to feed 400. If you would like to make a donation you can do so here: https://www.givey.com/ox4xmaslunch2025
Finally, a reminder that it's still possible to order Dundee cakes for nationwide delivery on the 11th or 19th of December. Find them and many more temptations in the Christmas Specials collection online.
That's all for now.
Thank you as always and have a lovely Sunday,
Kate and Hugo
