Single origin, bean-to-bar chocolate made in a tiny Cardiff micro-factory. Every stage of the process is handled by them in house, from importing the cacao to sorting, roasting and grinding, then tempering, moulding and finally stitching each bar into its packaging. Much of this work is done by hand, making it a time and labour intensive way to create chocolate.
Heist use only one variety of cacao at a time with current batch made from Venezualan Piaroa. The trees grow wild on small islands within the Orinoco River basin and are therefore not treated with fertilisers, with the river instead naturally replenishing the soil sediments.
