This is a wine we eagerly anticipate very year. Jean Maupertuis farms a few hectares of mainly old vine Gamay in Saint-Georges-sur-Allier in the Auvergne in central France. He makes a small amount of sparkling rose every year and there is always a scramble to get hold of some. This year’s vintage is bone-dry, very pale pink and bright as a button.
