A gentle yet pleasing goats cheese with an influence on its flavour from the yeasty goetrichum rind which lends a subtle animal flavour with hints of hazelnut. Chabichou hails from the Poitou-Chevre creamery in Bougon. The dairy has been in existence since 1906 when local goat farmers joined to turn all their milk into cheese. Having undergone extensive modernisation since then, the dairy is run by a family firm with production solely focused on traditional local cheeses.
Made with pasteruised goat's milk and animal rennet in Nouvelle Aquitaine, France.
